St. Thomas More has big news to celebrate; our school has been named a national winner (1 of 3) for the "Classroom of the Future 2016" contest. A team of our educators (Mrs. Doyle, Mrs. Bouzanis, Mrs. Riley and Mrs. MacDonald) submitted an application and their submission was declared a winner! The contest, run by MindShare Learning, challenged Canadian teachers to capture innovative teaching and learning practices and upload a digital portfolio that demonstrates the role technology plays in engaging and motivating students in their classroom.
Our team claimed one of three Makerspace prize packages for our school valued at over $10,000. We are deeply proud of their creativity and innovation in teaching and learning, which is spreading quickly in our school community.
Heartfelt congratulations extended to the Grade 1 and 1/2 team for their innovative efforts to leverage digital technology to deepen learning for our students.
