Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Scholastic Book Fair will be available for students this week beginning tomorrow, February 5th until Friday, February 7th. Special thanks to Mrs. Smith-Davey for organizing this popular event for our school!

Staff and students will be participating in National Sweater Day on Thursday, February 6th. Students are reminded to wear a warm sweater to school on Thursday.

February is Black History Month. Black History Month is a time to learn about the important contributions of Black Canadians to the settlement, growth and development of Canada. This is also an opportunity to learn about the diversity of Black communities in Canada and their importance to the history of this country. You are invited to join our community on Friday morning, February 7th for the MASC performance "Celebrate Africa!" (Gr. 3-6: 8:45-9:45am) (JK-Gr. 2: 10:15-11:15am) Everybody is welcome!

Highlights of the performance of Celebrate Africa: Feel the energy when Masabo hits the stage. These hereditary West African master musicians and dancers fill the air with soaring melodies and driving rhythms as the ancient arts of West Africa are brought to life. This performance is a feast of traditional songs, stories, dance and stunning musicianship. We hope you are able to join us for this spectacular show!

With thanks,

Ms. Gotell and Mrs. Gamache
