Dear Parents/Guardians:

St. Thomas More is pleased to be holding a Heart & Stroke Foundation JUMP Rope For Heart event on Wednesday, May 15, from 8:45-9:30 am for the Kindergarten and grade 1 students and 10:10-11:05 for grade 2 and 3 students. The grade 4 and 5 students will jump from 12:20- 1:20pm and the grade 6 students will jump from 1:55-2:40pm. All money raised will support the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation in their mission to promote children’s health and fund vital heart and stroke research.

JUMP Rope for Heart encourages kids to get active by skipping rope while they collect pledges for heart disease and stroke research. They also learn the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and giving back to their community.

We are in need of your help to make this event run smoothly. If you are able to volunteer your time, we would greatly appreciate it.  Please contact Mme Langdon directly at (613) 739-7131 or at Carmela.Langdon@ocsb.ca, if you are available for either the morning, the afternoon or both. I need approximately 4-5 parent volunteers in the morning and 7 for the afternoon. Thanks in advance!

Please help support your child’s fundraising efforts by registering them online and sending out donation requests to friends, family and colleagues. Online fundraising is the quickest way to reach all of your contacts and online donors receive an automatic tax receipt. In addition, all students who register online will receive a free skipping rope from the Heart & Stroke Foundation, as well as a $5 kickstart!

If you need assistance, please visit jumpropeforheart.ca  and check out our online fundraising videos and step by step “how-to” resources.

Each student brought home a pledge envelope today to collect cash and cheque donations in person. Please ensure that their pledge envelope is returned on the day of their school’s Jump Event Day (May 15, 2019) along with the money as well as a print out of online donations. We want to ensure that everyone receives the correct prizes for their fundraising efforts.

Thank you in advance for your support,

Mme C. Langdon (Teacher Coordinator Jump Rope for Heart 2019)
