Dear Parents/Guardians,

Throughout the year, classes organize experiential learning activities via field trips in our community. Please ensure that you have acquired your Vulnerable Sector Police Check if you plan to volunteer on field trips this year. Please see the information below:

Volunteers in OCSB schools:

As you know all volunteers (including parents) are required to have a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) in order to work with students. Apply online with the Ottawa Police Service. Please click on this link for additional information: http://ocsb.ca/volunteers/    Volunteer VSC Request Letter (to waive fee)

  1. Volunteers must submit a Vulnerable Sector Check - Level 3. Criminal Record Checks are not accepted.

  2. Please forward your electronic VSC by email to thomas.more@ocsb.ca and volunteers@ocsb.ca

  3. Original paper VSCs should be brought into the school so that the school office administration can verify the seal.  The school will send a copy to OCSB Volunteer Services, and return the original document to the individual.

  4. Once you have submitted your VSC and are a registered volunteer with the Board, a yearly offence declaration survey will be emailed to you for completion in the summer months to maintain your volunteer status with the OCSB.

  5. If you have already applied for the VSC and are currently waiting for the VSC to arrive, you are invited to complete an Offence Declaration Form at the main office for any immediate field trips planned.

Thank you! STM appreciates the support of all volunteers!
