  A Valentine’s Day Prayer

I said a Valentine prayer for you and asked the Lord above to fill your heart and bless your soul With the precious gift of love.

I asked Him for sincere love. The kind that's meant to stay Just like the generous love You give to those you touch each day.

His love that knows no end.

Amen

Who can go?

Testing is for everyone in your family or household; those with or without symptoms of COVID-19, and those who have or have not been exposed to COVID-19.

Why is it important?

Identifying people with COVID-19 will help to prevent spread at home and in our community and keep our classes and schools open. The risk of getting COVID-19 by going to a testing site is very low. OPH, CHEO and our health partners have many precautions put in place to reduce this risk.

How does it work?

The test for people without any symptoms will be a rapid test, which is similar to the lab-based test, but less invasive and gives results on the same day. You will be asked to go home after your test. If your test result is positive, you and your household/family members will be asked to return for a lab-based test to confirm the rapid test result, and will need to isolate at home until the lab-based test results are known or for up to 10 days if you choose to not have a lab-based test. If your rapid antigen test result is negative, you will not be called.

The test for people with symptoms of COVID-19 and/or who have recently been exposed to someone with COVID-19 will be the rapid test along with the lab-based test. Individuals will also need to isolate at home. Further instructions will be provided to you at the time of testing.

Ash Wednesday

Dear Wolfpack families, Ash Wednesday begins the forty day season of Lent that leads to Easter. This coming Ash Wednesday, we come together to remind ourselves that we don’

t always follow God’s ways and need to ask God for His mercy and forgiveness. Like God’s people in the time of the prophets, we wear ashes to show that we want to turn away from whatever keeps us from God, and to have a change of heart, so that we can live in the right relationship with God and each other. For Catholics, Ash Wednesday is also a day of fasting and abstaining from meat. Fasting reminds us that food alone cannot make us happy. We must also be fed with prayer, with God’s Word and by meeting Jesus in the Sacraments, especially Reconciliation and Eucharist. The small sacrifices we make during Lent make room in our hearts to welcome the risen Jesus at Easter. Please take some time to talk with your children about the meaning of Lent and discuss together what could be a meaningful sacrifice for this time. In this pandemic time we will fast from Ashes this year. As we will forgo the physical distribution of Ashes we continue to  mark this important day in the life of our faith. Virtual Liturgies will be held in the classrooms for our students and staff.
