Loving God, Help us to focus on what we have not on what is removed or changed. Strengthen us when we feel discouraged or overwhelmed. Embrace us so that we know your loving presence within us and among us. Walk with us as we bring your love, and carry your  light, into our world.   Amen.

School Photo Update

Dear Wolfpack families, we are happy to announce that we will be offering individual school photos for our students at St.Thomas More during the week of March 1st. Please mark your calendars as our STM Virtual Academy students will also have the opportunity to have their photo taken by appointment only  on designated days, during the first week of March. Virtual families please see our booking forms below.

Due to OPH guidelines we will not be having class photos or sibling photos. Individual photos will be taken one class at a time to ensure there is no crossover between class cohorts. We have transition timing in place to ensure that all areas are sanitized after each photo session. The photographer will have also completed the OPH screening tool prior to entering school and will be wearing a medical mask and face shield. The photographer will also remain 2 metres away from the student at all times while taking the photo. Markers will be placed on the floor to ensure appropriate physical distancing (2 m) between students while they wait their turn. Here is a short video outlining the safety precautions  for school photos. All photos will be taken in the Front Foyer. If you have any concerns or need clarification on our safety procedures please contact the school. Payment for school photos will be done online. We will be sending all families instructions on how to make payment for school photos during the week of March 1st. Below you will see our School Photo Schedule

St.Patrick High School Program Information

Dear Grade 6 Parents/Guardians,

We are very excited to launch our Program Information website today!

This website will also be featured on our regular school website.

We have worked hard to make this site as comprehensive as possible. This will be your guide for program planning, pathways and course selections for next year. There is information included about our school, student support, our intermediate and high school panels, as well as the courses that are offered from each department. Links to myBluePrint are also included. For our students entering grades 9-12, myBluePrint course selections are due Friday March 5, 2021.

This information is important for both in-person and virtual students.

You will find the following:

  • About our school: including a new 3D virtual tour, Chaplaincy and student support opportunities

  • Intermediate: including a sample timetable, grade 7/8 video, activities to try and our extra-curricular activities

  • High School: everything you need to know for course selections - programs, pathways, department course offerings, new courses, access to myBluePrint, etc. Please watch the important slide shows with details about graduation requirements and what you need to do to make your course selections for next year.

In addition, there are many exciting events happening this month - February is very busy!

We want to remind you about the Pop-Up Rapid Testing clinic being hosted at our school on February 20/21. Information was sent home on Friday February 12 and it can also be found on our website.

Our school board has sent out information about the Virtual Academy for the 2021-2022 school year. Please do read through it carefully. Any families who would like to register for the Virtual Academy for next year must do so by the deadline of February 25.

February is Black History Month. We have been celebrating with prayers, inspirational quotes, displays, and lessons in many classes. We are preparing for our annual Black History Month show as well. Our school community, school board and our wider world provide us with so many opportunities to listen, learn and celebrate!

School Mental Health Ontario has provided excellent resources to us as we navigate through all of the challenges from this past year. As you may have seen in previous communications, many of their resources are also designed for parents and families. Please visit SMHO COVID-19 resources for more information. Do not hesitate to reach out to us at school if there is something we can help with.

We are delighted that Ottawa Public Health has made many of their resources, including the required daily COVID screening, available in several languages - and Arabic has recently been added. Please visit OPH Multilingual resources for further information. This link is also on our school website.

From February 22-26, the Ottawa Catholic School Board will celebrate STEAM week. This is an opportunity for our students to take part in activities involving Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. There will also be a virtual Career Fair for our grade 10/11 students. There is also an exciting webinar for parents and educators to attend on Wednesday, February 24 at 7 pm with guest Jon Callegher from JobTalks.ca.  He will be speaking about 5 Great Reasons for a Career in the Trades.  The session will be recorded.  Please click HERE for the registration link.

Finally, we have our next School (Parent) Council meeting coming up on Monday February 22 at 4pm. The meeting will be held virtually. Information and the link will be posted on our school website in the parent section on Monday February 22. Everyone is welcome!

Thank you for being such exceptional partners as we move forward together during this school year. We really do appreciate everything you do to support your children and our school.
